Yahoo China (YHOO) is secretly testing a new service called Yahoo Business Search and is aiming to promote the service among users of Alibaba and Taobao.com.
Local media report that the launch of this new service marks a beginning of service integration between Yahoo and Alibaba, only days after Yahoo China's president stepped down after little more than a month on the job.
Tao Ran, spokesperson from Yahoo China, says that Yahoo Business Search, which is right now undergoing an internal test, may be used as a free platform for Alibaba's clients to release information to the public.
Both Alibaba and Yahoo China, according to the reports, should be able to earn good revenue if they can attract the online advertisers through this new service. Currently, a good chunk of revenue in China from online advertisements released on search engines are earned by (BIDU) Baidu.com, a competitor of Yahoo China.
