Tencent Joins Hands With TCL In Launching iTQQ TV

Tencent and TCL have jointly announced the successful launch of iTQQ, the first smart interactive television services in China.
Laucnhed in Shenzhen, iTQQ is reported to have cost more than one year's time of over 30 engineers from the two companies. Different from traditional television that can only be used to watch television programs, this new television can be used for experiencing online games, appreciating online photo albums and enjoying other Internet services.
A representative from Tencent says that iTQQ is an important component of Tencent's home application strategy and it has created a new way to enrich online value-added services.
Yan Xiaolin, director of TCL's Industrial Research Institute, says that through developing this new television service, not only is TCL's product line expanded and competitiveness increased, a new experience will also be brought to the users.
