China Telecom (CHA) and China Netcom promised at a recent symposium that they would provide consumers with a detailed local phone call log by the end of this year.
For many years, Chinese telephone users have complained that they can only see a detailed list of their long distance call logs, but have no access to see their local call logs when they pay their bills. With the implementation of new software and processes, the telecom operators say they are now in a better position to offer this important services.
Besides the promise of offering phone call lists, the two operators have also pledged to provide booking services for users who want to install a telephone in their homes. China Telecom says that from March 2007 it will offer a service for users who want to move their telephone but retain their phone number within the same city throughout ten provinces in northern China.
