Wang Junzhou, standing vice president of GOME, and Kevin Turner, COO of Microsoft, have signed a memorandum of understanding on a strategic partnership to make the Chinese electronics retailer the top sales partner for Microsoft's newly released Vista operating system.
Following the signing of the agreement, GOME has started carrying out sales promotions of Windows Vista at all its key sales outlets across China.
Before Windows Vista was released, Microsoft sent some trainers to train GOME's salespeople and provide expert consulting to them to learn about Vista's performance and functions.
Wang Junzhou says that GOME will set up 400 Vista Experience Centers and 2000 Vista Experience Areas in 1000 cities all over China to have users experience the various Vista applications for the first time.
