SK Cooperates With Datang On TD Service

Datang Mobile and SK China have jointly announced plans to set up a TD-SCDMA joint service development center to speed up the development of TD-SCDMA.
The new center is located in Beijing, inside Datang Mobile's compound. It will be used to develop, test, and verify the application of TD-SCDMA in China. The foundation of the center is part of cooperation agreement the parties reached last year. According to a memorandum of understanding signed by the parties last year, they would jointly set up this center to development 3G services.
SK has plans to also set up TD-SCDMA a research and development department in South Korea to explore a mutual benefit cooperation pattern between China and South Korea in the field of TD-SCDMA.
Globally, TD-SCDMA is making headway in the three regions of Hong Kong, Romania and South Korea.
