China Mobile (CHL) has just completed its network transformation in 31 provincial subsidiaries, except for that of Guangdong and Jiangsu, and is rumored to be planning to offer free traffic fees to users who use China Mobile's own WAP service.
China Mobile is perhaps making this consumer-friendly move to prepare for the upcoming traffic-based WAP differentiation charges. Those should be unveiled in a few months.
China Mobile plans to only charge traffic fees from WAP service on which it cooperates with other mobile value-added service providers.
China Mobile has not yet confirmed this MVAS news.
