The performance report of global mobile phone giant Nokia (NOK) shows that the company's sales worldwide reached EU41.1 billion in 2006, accounting for 36% of the world's total mobile phone share, and the company sold more than 51 million mobile phones in China during the year.
Colin Giles, the newly appointed vice president of Nokia China, says that the burgeoning China and India market has contributed the most to Nokia's top position in the world's mobile phone market.
Giles says that Nokia's mobile phone sales in China has already taken up 13% of the company's total sales in the global market. At present, Nokia holds up to 35% of the market share in China, ranking tops among all mobile phone manufacturers.
