Besides Datang, Potevio, ZTE, and TD Tech, China Mobile (CHL) has just added four new manufacturers for its mega-investment TD-SCDMA equipping bidding.
China Mobile's four new bidders are Ericsson, Bell-Alcatel, FiberHome Technologies and Xin You Tong. There are now eight bidders in total for China Mobile's TD-SCDMA equipment.
Local media speculate that the four new participants joined in the bidding perhaps through forming an alliance with domestic TD system manufacturers as Datang and ZTE. As some of them have not participated in the hard TD-SCDMA tests in the past, they are starting to be criticized in media for reaping the rewards without doing hard work.
