Following the foundation of its product experience stores in Chongqing and Nanjing, Dell has now decided to open a third product experience store in China in Tianjin.
Dell China says that its purpose of opening the third store is to have more Chinese consumers able to get in touch with Dell's products and enjoy the unique advantages of these products. On August 4, 2006, Dell opened its first product experience store in China in Chongqing. Before that, Dell launched more than 200 similar stores in the United States, Taiwan and Japan.
In response to the media's report that Dell opened these experience stores to complement its direct-selling business pattern, Michael Dell, founder, president and CEO of Dell, says that these stores will only be used to display Dell's products and they won't be involved in the sales work.
Dell has not yet opened any stores in big Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
