An official from China's Ministry of Information Industry says China is preparing to submit a 4G standard to the International Telecommunications Union.
Lou Qinjian, deputy director of MII, disclosed that ITU will start collecting 4G standard recommendations from next year and China is actively making preparations to submit its own 4G standard.
Han Jun, deputy director from the Science and Technology Division of MII, also says that one of the key tasks for the Division in 2007 is to do everything it can for the 4G international standard.
ITU initiated 4G related studies in 2000 and it has chosen some frequencies for 4G and will make a final decision during the world wireless conference next year.
