Following China Tietong and China Telecom, Beijing Netcom, a subsidiary of China Netcom, has now begun to provide call logs for its fixed phone users.
Fixed telephone users of Beijing Netcom can now bring their valid ID to the 87 business sites designated by Beijing Netcom to apply for the service, and from April 8, they can inquire about their Internet surfing logs via a hotline or the call logs for both local and long distance calls free of charge for the latest three months. However, Beijing Netcom emphasizes that these call logs can not be used as vouchers for the users to pay the telephone fees and this new service is not available to public telephones.
As the largest fixed communications network operator in Beijing, Beijing Netcom launched the service later than other fixed telecom operators, which the operator explains is because of the more complicated work involved in transforming and upgrading its relevant systems.
