EDS, one of the world's largest IT outsourcing service providers, will soon build a global service center in Wuhan Guanggu Software Park.

The Wuhan center will be the fourth global service center for EDS and it will be an important part of EDS' global strategy. Right now, the other three EDS global service centers are located in India, South America and East Europe, respectively.

Local media says that the burgeoning software outsourcing business in China is the main reason that has attracted EDS to come to the country. Relevant market reports show that China's software outsourcing market reached US$1.4 billion in 2006, which was an increase of 55.4% over the same period of the previous year.

Kevin Bonfied, vice president of Business Workforce and Capacity Management of EDS, says that China has become a strategic market for EDS and EDS will choose to enter some industries or sectors in China which are in need of EDS' services. EDS provides a broad portfolio of business and technology solutions to help its clients worldwide improve their business performance. The company's core portfolio comprises information technology, applications and business process services, as well as information technology transformation services.
