AsiaInfo (ASIA) has won a tender with China Mobile to deploy business and operation support systems for China Mobile's extended TD- SCDMA trials in four provinces and three municipalities.
In accordance with the 3G trial plan set forth by China's Ministry of Information Industry, China Mobile is conducting TD-SCDMA-based extended 3G trials in four provinces and three municipalities across China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin, Liaoning, Hebei, and Fujian. AsiaInfo is the exclusive provider for the BOSS for China Mobile's extended TD-SCDMA trials in these regions.
Using its OpenBOSS solution, AsiaInfo will provide total billing and customer relationship management solutions to all the extended trials. In addition, AsiaInfo will provide professional consulting services to assist in the design of business models and service processes.
AsiaInfo's OpenBOSS solution has already been successfully deployed in nine China Mobile provincial subsidiaries to support its current GSM network. AsiaInfo has also deployed China's largest BOSS system in Zhejiang province, which services over 20 million subscribers.
"We are very excited to win our first 3G BOSS bid and are proud to be assisting the largest mobile operator in the world in its TD-SCDMA trial network deployment," said Steve Zhang, president and CEO of AsiaInfo. "3G is the next frontier in telecommunications in China, and this project places AsiaInfo in a leadership position in this space."
