Chinese telecom operators have expressed their support following the launch of a nationwide special campaign against online pornography by ten government departments, led by China's Ministry of Information Industry.

China Telecom said that it would further improve its telecom network real-time inspection and management system; enlarge the testing and supervision on broadband access; and straighten the Internet service market with special focus on virtual hosting machines and hosting services.

China Netcom said it would enhance the management on its hosting services and implement a user protocol review principle and user log maintenance system. China Mobile said that it would review and keep records of service providers, strengthen the supervision and checks on service providers, and would stop cooperation with them once Chinese porn is identified.

At the provincial level, ten departments from Jiangsu Province have held a telephone conference to arrange a special action against online pornography across the province and the action will last from now until the end of September. The ten departments are Jiangsu Provincial Commission's Publicity Department, Jiangsu Province Department of Public Security, Jiangsu "Anti-porn" Leader Team Office, Jiangsu Provincial Education Department, Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Communications, Jiangsu Provincial Culture Department, Jiangsu Provincial Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Press and Publication, Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government and Jiangsu Provincial Banking Regulatory Bureau.

Of those agencies, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Public Security said that each of its affiliates would arrange a "110″ telephone hotline reporting center and virtual police on all key websites and online forums to receive public reports and requests for service.
