Google (GOOG) China has reached an agreement with China Telecom (CHA) to cooperate with the latter on online advertising.
This is another move for Google to develop the China market following its signing of mobile search service deals with China Mobile earlier this year.
According to their agreement, Google will provide online advertising services for China Telecom's Vnet.cn and city portal websites. Kaifu Lee, CEO of Google China, said they are pleased to cooperate with China Telecom, which is a leading enterprise in China's domestic network operation field.
Yang Keke, general manager of China Telecom's Internet and Value-added Service Department, said that they would add more to online advertising projects and try to realize a win-win situation for both parties. Although the parties have not disclosed more details on their cooperation, Google reportedly regards this cooperation as one of its most important strategic cooperations of the year.
