China's online social networking field has welcomed a new member with the launch of the test beta of MySpace's Chinese website.
MySpace currently has about 170 million registered users. A representative from MySpace China said that their website is better than other websites in that they provide an interactive platform for Chinese users to communicate with their friends worldwide. But it may be difficult for MySpace to attract Chinese users, as many netizens already have their own fixed personal space on a locally run website.
However the entry of MySpace will undoubtedly increase competition and force other websites to make innovations on their own services.
