Karaoke copyright fees have made new headway in Shaanxi Province in northwest China with 21 KTV venues there recently signing to pay for the copyright fee.
Ou Lei, a representative from China Audio and Video Association Shaanxi Branch, says that 21 entertainment venues in Shaanxi Province have signed and received an audio and video copyright use license from the China Audio and Video Association and this is a good milestone made by the province. Ou says that CAVA will try to protect their own interests through legal means in case there are some companies that refuse to pay the copyright fee.
Meanwhile, in Guangzhou where the majority of KTV owners collectively refused to pay the copyright fee, six KTV oulets in Guangzhou have signed with CAVA to pay the KTV copyright fee.
