Digital Television Signal Will Cover Beijing Next Year

By 2008, digital television will cover all the eight urban districts of Beijing and the local residents will be able to watch more than 140 digital television programs with a set top box fixed on their TV set, according to local media reports.
Suantaoling Village in Xiaotangshan Town of Changping District in Beijing has become the first digital village in the suburbs of Beijing, with broadband and digital television service simultaneously introduced to this village. This enables people there not only to watch more than 100 high definition television programs but also make online inquiries about things they see online or on the television.
Beijing Radio & Television Bureau disclosed that by next year, digital signals will basically cover all the eight urban districts of Beijingm which already have more than 500,000 digital television users.
