China GrenTech (GRRF) has won the bid to supply coverage equipment for China Mobile 's Olympic WLAN network.
GrenTech also signed a supply framework agreement with China Mobile Group.
GrenTech will provide customized and newly designed WIFI coverage equipment for the Olympic WLAN network. The equipment will cover different types of protocols including IEEE802.11a, b, and g. In addition to supplying WIFI coverage equipment to China Mobile, GrenTech will also participate in the design and construction of the Olympic WLAN network.
The Olympic WLAN network is a high speed wireless data transmission network constructed by China Mobile for the Olympics, it will provide high speed wireless internet access for end users. The network will cover the Olympic gymnasiums, stadiums and surrounding areas in six Olympic cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai.
