Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Unicom have announced new information about plans to put mobile phone television service into commercial use under the CDMA network.
Shanghai Unicom users only need to send "TV" to 8710 before they can enjoy the service, which allows them to watch live broadcast television programs or even films through their mobile phones.
The cost of the service consists of two parts: the information fee, also known as channel fee, which is CNY10 per month and the online traffic fee which is CNY0.1 per minute which can increase the total Internet use fee to about CNY200 per month for this service only. Shanghai Unicom suggests that users apply for special discounted packages if they plan to frequently use the services.
