China's Ministry of Information Industry has just exposed the illegal behaviors of 69 wireless value-added service providers who have been involved in luring consumers with short messages, unclear charging of fees, not marking prices for their services, offering bad information and carrying out misleading advertising.
In the list, MII has included the names, business license numbers, legal persons' names, service codes, accessing telecom enterprises, and illegal behaviors of each service provider as well as the punishment they have been given.
Four companies from Shanghai have been included in the list. Of them Shanghai Mtone Wireless and Shanghai Ray Digital Technology Company have been exposed for sending group short messages to lure consumers and each of them has been asked to correct their behavior, apologize to users and pay compensation to them.
Another Shanghai company Shanghai Yitutong Information Technology has also been asked to rectify its undisclosed improper behavior.
