McDonald's China announced that it has launched a special section on Chinese online auction site Taobao.com.
At present, the new online area of McDonald's only provides the foreign fast food restaurant's coupons to consumers. Zhang Jiayin, chief marketing officer of McDonald's China, says that the rapid development of online shopping has become a factor that can't be overlooked by any enterprise and McDonald's will serve the Chinese consumers through the online platform.
Though consumers still can't book food from the online platform, it already pushes McDonald's ahead of other foreign fast food operators. At present, consumers who buy any type of McDonald's super value package food from any of McDonald's over 800 outlets in China, can get a "CNY20 cash coupon" from Taobao.com.
