AsiaInfo (ASIA) has signed a contract with Gansu Mobile, a subsidiary of China Mobile (CHL), to expand its Business Operation Support System.

"The evolution of Chinese telecom operators' Business Operation Support System represents a significant long-term growth opportunity for AsiaInfo," said Steve Zhang, president and chief executive officer of AsiaInfo. "As a
leading provider of telecom software and services in China, we remain well positioned to capture opportunities to provide best-of-class products and innovative solutions that enable the evolution."

AsiaInfo first deployed a billing and accounting system for Gansu Mobile in 1998. In 2002, with 1.7 million subscribers, AsiaInfo upgraded the system to comply with China Mobile's BOSS 1.0 specifications. The system has experienced systematic upgrades since 2002 to meet China Mobile's BOSS 1.5 and 2.0 specifications and now supports over 5 million subscribers.

For this project, AsiaInfo will expand the capacity and upgrade it to comply with China Mobile's new BOSS 3.0 specifications. This new system will support up to 8 million subscribers by the end of 2008.
