HK Seizes Smuggled Hard Disks

    Hong Kong Customs and Marine Police reportedly seized 6,765 computer hard disks, worth HK$4.1 million, in a joint operation mounted at Sai Wan Tsui in Sai Kung.

    A 26-year-old Hong Kong male driver was arrested and a truck was impounded.

    Hong Kong Customs and Police stressed that they would continue their stringent enforcement against sea smuggling. Under the Import and Export Ordinance, smuggling is a serious offense. The maximum penalty is a fine of HK$2 million and imprisonment for seven years.
