Beijing's Haidian District Court has sentenced a man surnamed Wu, a former security guard at China's Ministry of Information Industry, to 13 years in prison and ordered him to pay CNY30,000 in fines and compensation for the losses.
The 22-year-old Wu previously worked as a security guard at the Communications Computation Center of the Ministry of Information Industry. When he was there, he fabricated keys to the storeroom of CCC. Later after he resigned from the post, he secretly entered the storeroom and stole 837 testing mobile phones which were worth over CNY500,000.
After the stheft, Wu sold all the stolen mobile phones, except for one which he kept for his own use. He was captured by the police in February this year.
