News from Nokia China is that Deng Yuanyun, vice president of Nokia Global, will replace Colin Giles to be responsible for Nokia's business in Greater China region starting January 1, 2008.
This is the second time that the global mobile phone giant changed top executives for its China company within this year. In early 2007, Nokia appointed Colin Giles, who previously was a senior vice president of Nokia Greater China's Client and Marketing Operation, to be president of Nokia China. Colin Giles will work with Nokia's East Region Sales after he leaves his current position.
Apart from the personnel change, Nokia will also make adjustments on its corporate structure and restructure the existing departments into three main branches of equipment, software, and service and market. In the first three quarters of this year, Nokia's mobile phone sale in China increased by 38.7% and reached 50.5 million in total. At present, the company takes about 39% of the world's mobile phone sales.
