A public hearing is expected to be soon held by China's National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Information Industry for implementing mobile phone roaming price reduction measures.
Kan Kaili, a panelist and professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, has told local media that roaming prices are sure to be reduced, but no details have been given.
According to the schedule from NDRC and MII, the upper limit adjustment of mobile phone roaming prices will be published in the coming days, before the end of 2007. A representative from MII explains that the program is still under discussion and the adjustment involves specific members in specific departments and covers a wide range.
