Beijing Netcom will launch later today a 4M ADSL service with a monthly fee of CNY258.
A representative from Beijing Netcom says that they had planned to launch the service on December 25, but later had to postpone the plan because of some unstated reasons. For the high monthly fee of CNY258, the person explains that this is just a price for the initial phase and Beijing Netcom will later make some adjustments according to the market feedback.
At present, Beijing Netcom's 2M ADSL service is priced at CNY188 per month, while in many other second-tier and third-tier cities in China, the 2-4M ADSL service is only priced at CNY30/month.
Beijing Netcom says that the new service is now only available to a few places and users should go to its business halls for details.
