Changhong Spends CNY600 Million On OLED

Wu Yingjian, deputy general manager of Sichuan Changhong, has disclosed that Changhong has made new headway in its Organic Light Emitting Display project on which it has spent CNY160 million and plans to put it into operation in the second half of 2008.
The technology for the OLED project is partly from Orion, a South Korean company acquired by Changhong, and partly from research institutes in Chengdu.
Wu says that Changhong's OLED products will be used by Changhong's holding companies and mainly used for mobile phone display.
