Gansu, Ningxia Adopt Real-name System For Online Communities

Gansu and Ningxia have announced plans to adopt real-name registration system for Internet BBS administrator and chat room host posts.
According to local Chinese media, Gansu Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region have worked out measures to implement real name registration systems and are asking websites providing BBS, online forums and chat rooms to register within the system.
Thirteen Chinese ministries including the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information Industry and Ministry of Culture jointly held a tele-conference on January 22, 2008, saying that they would continue to crack down on harmful online content between January and September this year.
