Taobao.com, the largest online auction service provider in China, is reportedly secretly testing its mobile phone version.
According to an insider, Taobao.com will formally start the public test of the service on February 27, though the test version of the service can be used now. Taobao.com says it will announce more details of the service on February 27.
Currently, wap.taobao.com can be accessed. With the service, users can not only pay for their mobile phone fees, book an air ticket and purchase goods, but also search for goods and compare goods prices.
By starting the service at this time, Taobao will take an advantageous position in China's online retailing market.
