LG Electronics has announced plans to add a chief operations officer position for its business in China and appointed Zhao Chongfeng, a senior marketing professional with rich overseas experience, to take the position, responsible for the company's sales network in China.
Zhao has worked in LG Electronics for 28 years. Before he was transferred to China, he worked for six years for LG Electronics in South America.
A representative from LG Electronics says that China has always been an important strategic market for LG and with the coming of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, China's domestic sale market becomes particularly prominent, this is why LG has decided to arrange the new position.
In 2007, LG Electronics achieved US$10 billion sales revenue in China, of which about 20% was from China's domestic sale market.
