Various Chinese media are saying that The9's (NCTY) CEO Zhu Jun is going to quit, and Chen Xiaowei, former president and CFO of lackluster Web portal China.com, will replace him and work as president or CEO at The9, one of China's many game software firms.
Zhu is the founder, president and CEO of The9. If he recedes behind the curtain, he will reportedly focus more on the strategic decision making of the company, while Chen will take over most of the daily management of the company.
As early as in November 2007, there were rumors that Zhu would resign from the CEO position of The9 and he had begun to look for new CEO for the company.
So far, The9's PR department has denied the reports.
