Chinese electrical appliance manufacturer TCL says that it has been approved by China's Ministry of Information Industry to make digital satellite television sets.
TCL says the company has been shifted to its catalogue of satellite TV broadcasting ground reception equipment enterprises and will make TV products specified as Digital Satellite TV Receivera. For this, the company will write Digital Satellite TV Receiver into its business scope in the new corporate charter.
TCL adds that as the televisions used by millions of users right now are based on analog signals, they need to use digital compressed satellite receivers to receive digital signals. Therefore, the company says there is a big market potential for its new products.
