China Mobile will soon set up an independent affiliate to be responsible for the operation of the company's Internet service, including the newly launched Fetion, according to news on China's Techweb.
China Mobile's new company is reportedly to be called Yidong Hulian and will be managed by staff of China Mobile's Marketing Department and Data Department.
The rumor says that the new company is now in the final stage of preparation and it may be formally licensed in the middle of this month. However, a representative from China Mobile says that they don't have any news about the new company and therefore have nothing yet to report.
China Mobile's fiscal results shows that by the end of 2007, China Mobile's wireless music club had 35.46 million senior members. In addition, the company had12.81 million active Fetion users.
