Lv Yan, president and CEO of the new Lenovo (LNVGY) Mobile Company which has just been initiated in Xiamen Lenovo Mobile Phone Industrial Park, has announced Lenovo Mobile's new goal to create the top mobile pone brand in China in three years.
In stating the company's upcoming strategy, Lv said that the company's goal for the coming three years is to create a top mobile phone brand in China and develop the necessary strength to compete with international brands. Lv said that Lenovo Mobile would further target consumers and clients' demand, upgrade clients' overall experiences and provide tailored products and services. In the meantime, it would try to seek an advantageous position in the industry through technology innovation and high efficiency management.
On January 31, Lenovo Group announced plans to sell its mobile phone business for US$100 million to a private fund headed by Hony Capital, a move which was believed to help the company remove a heavy burden. Before that, Lenovo Mobile suffered a loss of CNY133.72 million in 2007 and its mobile phone sales also were reduced by 31% compared with that of the previous year.
