Motorola (MOT) has made some adjustments on its regional framework by putting the Taiwan region, which previously was under Greater China's administration, under East Asia region, and making the China region directly report to its headquarters.
By doing so, Motorola has become the second mobile phone manufacturer next to Sony Ericsson that has put Taiwan under a region outside of Greater China.
In addition to Taiwan, Motorola has also included Hong Kong region into East Asia's administration. Due to the special feature of the Chinese mainland market, Motorola reportedly wants to operate it independently and to have it report directly to the company's headquarters.
Motorola's East Asia headquarters, which is located in Singapore, is responsible for the company's business in 15 countries and regions, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India and Australia.
