China Mobile (CHL) has published an announcement on the second round of TD-SCDMA bidding.
China Mobile says in the announcement that it plans to purchase 100,000 TD-SCDMA terminal products, including mobile phones and data cards, in the bidding. It also says that its mobile phone bidding is only open to companies that have previously received network access licenses from the Ministry of Information Industry.
It is estimated that about 20-30 manufacturers will participate in China Mobile's bidding.
China Mobile purchased 60,000 TD-SCDMA mobile phones and 15,000 TD-SCDMA data cards in February in the first round of its TD bidding.
