China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has published a report on the spot-check results of mobile phone batteries, which shows that eight types of mobile phone batteries, all of which were made by Shenzhen companies, are unqualified.
AQSIQ checked a total of 112 batteries made by 88 companies from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Fujian and Guangdong. 89.9% of the products were found to be qualified and eight types of mobile phone batteries unqualified.
The unqualified batteries were reportedly made by Shenzhen Jierui Industry Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen Hengjiatong Electronics Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen Shengkesi Electronics Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen Chaolipu Technology Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen Xianfeng Electronics Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen Langtaige Electronics Co., Ltd.; Shenzhen Jiayuantong Technology Co., Ltd.; and Shenzhen Jingyou Communications Technology Co., Ltd. Among them, five types of batteries were said to be unqualified because of heat shock problems, which may result in an explosion or fire.
AQSIQ says it will punish the above companies and ask them to rectify their business within a given deadline.
