Chinese media reports that China Mobile (CHL), one of the major mobile service providers in China, is slowly taking over the TD network of China Netcom and China Telecom (CHA).
China Mobile is said to be in the process of taking over China Netcom's TD network in Qingdao, Shandong Province and China Telecom's network in Baoding, Hebei Province. However, it is unknown whether China Mobile has paid both parties for the TD network on which each of them has invested a great deal of funds.
China Netcom reportedly has 413 TD base stations in Qingdao, and China Telecom has 300 TD base stations in Baoding. Previously, Zhang Chunjiang, former president of China Netcom, said that China Netcom invested more than CNY1.6 billion on TD construction.
As TD networks of the two parties has nothing to do with each side's listed companies, the transfer of it them is believed to not be so complicated.
