If you notice on the Apple Hong Kong website, it says clearly that they will only fix phones that are sold via Hong Kong. So that means if you want to take the phone back to Mainland China, you can't get it fixed unless you take it back to Hong Kong. I believe the news about China Mobile doing their own wifi-less phone is a different deal from how Apple is trying to undercut the Chinese authorities by going at it alone, and therefore it seems like the most intelligent move Apple has yet made in China.
