NetSun.com has announced plans to enter China's consumer apparel retail sector with the launch of its apparel online shopping platform, which will be opened soon.
Originally operating as a B2B e-commerce platform, this is the first time for NetSun.com to enter the B2C business. Focusing on the sales of apparel products, the B2C business of NetSun.com will be managed by an independent company. Invested and managed by Efu.com.cn, an apparel-oriented Chinese website, the yet-unnamed B2C company of NetSun will become a subsidiary of Efu.com.cn and NetSun will not directly participate in the company.
Having been managing B2B businesses for about 12 years, the opening of NetSun.com's B2C platform is the company's important strategic deployment in the e-commerce industry chain after it acquired several industry websites, including Efu.com.cn and Texindex.com.cn.
According to the 22nd Report on China Internet Network Development released by the China Internet Network Information Center, by June 30, 2008, the number of Chinese netizens had reached 253 million while the permeability of online shopping had reached 27.9%. In the first half of 2008, the market scale of China's online shopping was CNY16.2 billion.
