China's Plasma TV Sales Increased 250% In The First Nine Months Of 2008

All View Consulting Ltd., a Chinese appliances market consulting organization, has released its report on China's color television industry for the first three quarters of 2008.
From January to September 2008, a total of 27.04 million color televisions were sold in China, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%; and the total sales were CNY92.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25.6%.
Of those, 1.18 million plasma TVs were sold in China in the first nine months and the total sales reached CNY8.7 billion, which increased by 250.2% and 108.6%, respectively, compared with the same period last year. The huge increase was led by the completion of the product line of plasma TVs and the push from the Full-HD plasma TV manufacturers.
At the same time, the report says the sales volume of LCD TVs were 7.8 million sets in the first nine months, a year-on-year increase of 54.2%; and the sales were CNY57.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 46.9%.
