China Telecom's Terminal Subsidiary Officially Launched

China Telecom's mobile terminal subsidiary eSurfing was officially launched on November 27, 2008 and Yang Xiaowei, vice general manager of China Telecom, was appointed chairman of the new company.
Directors of many departments of China Telecom and all directors and supervisors of eSurfing, including Chairman Yang Xiaowei, Vice General manager Ma Daojie, Vice General Manager Ma Wu, attended the launch ceremony.
This is another landmark event for China Telecom since its formal takeover of the CDMA network from China Unicom on October 1, 2008. The launch of this new company represents the completion of China Telecom's adjustments to its mobile terminal operating system. At the same time, it is a substantial leap forward which shows China Telecom's determination to develop its CDMA business.
According to local media reports, the newly established eSurfing will be operated as a mobile terminal management center within the China Telecom Group and will be in charge of the mobile terminal management of the entire group. At the same time, the company will operate its businesses under the name of eSurfing Telecom Terminal Co., Ltd outside the group, developing terminal customization, purchasing and sales businesses.
