R2G, a Beijing-based intellectual property agency that focuses on the protection of digital music copyright, has inked an agreement with Microsoft (MSFT) to integrate its Wa3.cn into Microsoft's Windows Media Player, providing an online purchase channel for Chinese users who want to buy Chinese and foreign indie records.
With this new cooperation, users of Wa3.cn can connect to the R2G's Wawawa music store to buy authentic music by using Windows Media Player. At the same time, Beggars Group, a British independent record label, will also realize the legal sales of its music in China for the first time through the cooperation.
A representative from Microsoft says that the combination of Wawawa music store with Windows Media Player will make it easier for users to access music and directly download the music to their music players.
Mai Dan, vice president of R2G, says that having been committed to providing a legal and feasible channel for music downloading, R2G is glad that its efforts gained the recognition of Microsoft. The cooperation between the two parties will provide music lovers with a more convenient way to access to the music they desire.
