China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has published a notice, which states that to enhance the construction of MIIT's official website and to raise the popularity and credibility of the website, it has decided to collect logo ideas for the website from the public between December 15, 2008 to March 31, 2009.
This logo collection activity will be hosted by the General Office of MIIT and supported by the Public Information Center of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence. Under the principles of "fair, just and open", MIIT will select one first prize winner, three second prize winners and six third prize winners.
Different from the currently used logo with the pictures of national emblem and marble pillar, the new selected logo will be used in such sectors as pictures and video news from MIIT's website, downloaded documents from MIIT's website, important information systems constructed by other units entrusted by departments of the MIIT and propaganda columns co-constructed by MIIT with other units constructed independently by other units under the guidance of MIIT.
Taking the new website logo as a symbol, MIIT aims to enhance the authority and credibility of its online information and services, raise the popularity and influence of its official website and continue to expand the applications of its website logo.
