The ink is not yet dry on the resignation of Gong Yu from Chinese Internet portal Sohu.com (SOHU), and already there is word of which company he has fled to in China.
Information from Beijing Wuxian Xunqi Information and Technology Company confirms that Gong Yu, the chief operating officer at Sohu.com who this week announced his resignation, will join the company and work as president and chief operating officer for Wuxian Xunqi.
As the exclusive cooperative partner of China Mobile's 12580 comprehensive information service portal, Wuxian Xunqi manages the business travel website 12580.com and provides the supporting platform for the operation of China Mobile's 12580 services.
Zhang Zhihao, CEO of Wuxian Xunqi, told local media that the company welcomes the arrival of Gong. Zhang speaks highly of Gong's working ability and working enthusiasm. He says he believes that Gong will be a very good partner.
Sohu.com announced the resignation of Gong on Monday, and Gong will formally depart from his position in Sohu.com from January 10, 2009.
