AUO Appoints Andy Yang As New CFO

AU Optronics Corporation, one of the world's leading Chinese TFT-LCD makers headquartered in Taiwan, has announced the appointment of Andy Yang, current associate vice president of AUO's finance center, as new CFO of the company effective from March 1, 2009.
Max Cheng, current CFO of the company, will assume the role of executive vice president thereafter and be responsible for the company's long-term business investment strategy, including photovoltaic technology and other new businesses planning and management.
Currently working as associate vice president of the finance center of AUO's finance division, Andy Yang joined AUO in 2002 and has been appointed to numerous important roles, including senior project manager of the finance division of AUO in Taiwan, finance director of AUO subsidiaries in China, member of the board of supervisors of Darwin Precisions, and general manager of Apower Optronics Corp.
Yang graduated from Department of Finance of National Taiwan University with a BBA degree in 1991 and received his MBA degree from George Washington University in 1996.
