Chinese telecommunications operator China Mobile has announced that its TD-SCDMA commercial trial has officially finished and the company will announce its terminal policies soon.
China Mobile will reportedly set up a fund for TD-SCDMA to promote the terminal development of TD-SCDMA and improve the overall quality. At the same time, the company will charge twice the agency fees from TD-SCDMA mobile phone agents as that of GSM.
A representative from China Mobile says that the TD-SCDMA terminal channel will be an all-encompassing channel which will mostly adopt the direct sales service business model. China Mobile will encourage innovations of terminal products and terminal applications.
The representative adds that China Mobile will provide a large amount of subsidies to terminals. Once a TD-SCDMA terminal is allowed to enter the network, it will gain the subsidy no matter which sales channel it adopts.
