Chinese electronics maker Haier made revenue of CNY122 billion in global markets in 2008, a year-on-year increase of 8%.
Local Chinese media reports state the company's overseas revenue went up 9.8% compared with the same period in 2007 while its profits increased by 20.6%.
Zhang Ruimin, CEO of Haier Group, says that facing the current global financial crisis, Haier is taking three major measures: first, to provide innovative products and to provide solutions to end-users; second, to make innovation in a business model to implement zero goods in the company's warehouses; and third, to create an innovative system and to set up an autonomous management body.
Haier says its performance growth in domestic Chinese market in 2008 mainly attributed to China's policy of promoting home appliances in Chinese villages.
At present, Haier has set up 29 manufacturing bases, eight comprehensive research centers and 19 overseas trading companies around the world with over 50,000 employees.
